Tonight was my friend George’s birthday (happy birthday George!) and we had a great, fun dinner full of old friends and laughs. I was so excited to give her her present – this book on Alexander McQueen. It was published to coincide with the exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, organized by The Costume Institute. I’m sure you saw all the photos of the swanky celebs (dressed in McQueen but of course!) attending. The cover is awesome, a hologram photo of McQueen that morphs into a skull. Sad and gruesome considering his end, but perfect for the art and legacy he created.
I’m going to invite myself over to George’s for a champagne and a flick of the pages. Long live the Queen.
